โ DutyHourCheck: free ACGME duty-hour checker
How to export your QGenda schedule to a calendar (iCal / webcal link)
QGenda can give you a private calendar link (it starts with webcal:// or https://). Add that link to your phone's calendar and your shifts stay up to date on their own. Paste the same link into DutyHourCheck to check your schedule against ACGME duty-hour rules.
Find your QGenda calendar link
- Sign in at app.qgenda.com on a computer.
- On your dashboard, click Sync (sometimes labeled Calendar Sync).
- Copy the address under "Your subscription URL" and paste it here.
- In the mobile app the same link is under Calendar Sync.
Task names come from your department, so check the Shift types list below after loading.
๐ QGenda treats this URL like a password. Keep it private.
Add it to your calendar app
- Google Calendar (on a computer): Other calendars, then the + button, then From URL. Paste the link (change
webcal://tohttps://if Google rejects it). - Apple Calendar (iPhone): Settings, Calendar, Accounts, Add Account, Other, Add Subscribed Calendar. Paste the link.
- Outlook (on the web): Add calendar, then Subscribe from web. Paste the link.
Subscribed calendars refresh on the calendar app's own schedule, which can be several hours. Check QGenda itself before a shift swap.
Check it against duty-hour rules
Paste the link into DutyHourCheck. It flags EM shifts over 12 hours, rest shorter than the shift before it, weeks over 60 clinical or 72 total hours, no day off in 7, and more than 6 nights in a row, or the Common Program Requirements (80 hours averaged over 4 weeks, 24+4, 14 hours off after 24-hour call). The check runs in your browser and the free audit stays free.
